IMPORTANT FOREWORD NOTE:

Fees or charges in any service of Studio Walk the Line usually does not include media charges unless noted otherwise. This is because dear clients often have their own choice of media (ex: Toyo Yuden CD-R or Mitsubishi CD-R, or SONY DAT Tape etc.). Please bring your media of choice or buy from us.
The service tagged as Non Time-based doesn't charge Studio Time Fee. It's all inclusive in the respective service fee.
We don't work as a producer, unless you pick our "PRODUCER PACKAGE". If you need a producer, we recommend you consider "PRODUCER PACKAGE".
"Song" used in this page or on any of our pages relating service rates denotes of "a piece of music" which means a musical composition with or without lyrics.

Our standard working bit depth and sample rate is 32bit,or 24bit/96khz in WAV file. or AIFF file. If you would like other sample rates, please consult us. There may be a charge for other sample rates (usually if higher than 96kHz).

Studio Fee

*There is always basic hourly fee ("Studio Time FEE") charge while working in the studio except for the "Non Time-Based" services.

*Non-time based services are: Engineer's Mix Pack, (which preclude Studio Time: Mixing), or any other non-time based services so indicated in Special Pack, Add-ons, Special Services, and options.

*There is some preparatory talk session between you and our engineer for each recording/mixing project. We don't charge any for this kind of talk session. Some studios may, but we don't! So don't worry.

Includes engineering operation. You can't stand by or supervise the mix. Engineer works alone. All included (no charge of Studio Time).

You leave all the mixing jobs to the engineer. The engineer gives you the completed mix after it's done on a later time (another day).

This PACK guarantees the final mix by the engineer without bothering about studio time.

A DVD-R of the project's track audio files including master 16bit/44.1kHz audio files of your project songs can be provided, for this CD Copy Fee. For this use, DVD-R burning is limited to one time. (You must provide a blank DVD-R or buy one from us.)

* This service is also available as a stand alone (which means you can use it without your using Basic Studio Time.) See "Special Services".

Notes On Using ADAT, DAT Tape Formats Or Other Formats

If you want to mix your materials recorded in ADAT or DAT, you need to import them to DAW. In this case, you are charged Import fee (ADAT Import fee, DAT Import fee.). For ADAT, also ADAT option (use fee) is charged.

However, if you record your tracks in our studio in ADAT and mix those ADAT tracks to DAW, you don't need to pay ADAT import fee. You only have to pay ADAT option fee for the use of it.

To import other materials into our DAW from media other than DAT or ADAT (Example: other DAW files, tracks on CDs, files on DVD-Rs etc. ), DAW Import fee is charged.

At the expense of these fees, NO STUDIO TIME IS CHARGED for the working time of these imports. This charge system is taken to the advantage of budget-conscious customers.

Special Services

These special services are only available to Non Studio Time users except "import fees".

For all the services not included here, Studio Time Fee applies.

For processing, high-end software plug-ins are used like Waves. <NOTE> Noise Removal/De-clicking is basically a process to make the uncomfortable audio listenable in exchange of some loss of audio quality. Degree of the loss depends on the sorts of the noise problems. The processing may take many hours, although it depends on how bad the source is. We may say we can't offer the service because we just can't give a satisfactory result out of the source. Which fee range the processing falls into depends on how you want it, and what could actually be done, and/or what has actually been done. There is a considerable fee difference among ranges. So usually we give an estimate based on the material given. Usually where click noise spots are many and not simple we de-click them manually one by one. In this case the processing is viewed as at least complicated. Completed mix is given as an audio file in a CD-Rom and also as an audio CD. Media charges are not included. How the seconds are handled in computing the total length: If total length's left over sec. is less than 30 sec. it will be cut off from the total. If it's 30 sec. and up, it will be counted as a minute.

However, if you like our pre-master, we can make the level set like a full master. Recommended for any project. Frequently used software: WAVEs plug-ins like Max Volume, Linear Phase EQ, C4, L3, L2 etc. <NOTE> You should know that for the real optimization of the total balance of a CD, you should work from the early stage of the project. 1 song must be less than 5 min. 30 sec. This is not a full "Mastering Service". Usually most or all processing is software based. <NOTE>
Noise Removal/De-clicking is basically a process to make the uncomfortable audio listenable in exchange of some loss of audio quality. Degree of the loss depends on the sorts of the noise problems.

The processing may take many hours, although it depends on how bad the source is.

We may say we can't offer the service because we just can't give a satisfactory result out of the source.

Which fee range the processing falls into depends on how you want it, and what could actually be done, and/or what has actually been done. There is a considerable fee difference among ranges. So usually we give an estimate based on the material given.

Usually where click noise spots are many and not simple we de-click them manually one by one. In this case the processing is viewed as at least complicated.

Completed mix is given as an audio file in a CD-Rom and also as an audio CD. Media charges are not included.

How the seconds are handled in computing the total length:

If total length's left over sec. is less than 30 sec. it will be cut off from the total. If it's 30 sec. and up, it will be counted as a minute.

Normally level adjustments, Dynamics, EQ etc. will be applied to make the whole CD listening natural and smooth. To some extent, this processing could be customized to suit your need.

Usually enough level margin is left for further processing. However, if you like our pre-master, we can make the level set like a full master.

Recommended for any project.

Frequently used software: WAVEs plug-ins like Max Volume, Linear Phase EQ, C4, L3, L2 etc.

<NOTE>
You should know that for the real optimization of the total balance of a CD, you should work from the early stage of the project.

1 song must be less than 5 min. 30 sec. Or the average length per song must be 4 min 30 sec. or less. A piece of music longer than 5 min. 30 sec. is counted as multiple songs (each 5 min 30 sec excess as 1 song).

This is not a full "Mastering Service". Usually most or all processing is software based.

Once this service is taken, no matter how slight the audio processing is, it costs you the same indicated service fee.

Audio in general and very short audio in nature like special effects, sample CD etc. will be counted in a different way. Please ask us.

We strongly recommend our "Pre-mastering" service for the burning of un-mastered source.
